So something is leaking. Every morning for the past 4 or 5 days there is a wet spotbeneath my Ex. If you are standing just in front of the drivers seat and look under the truck, in the middle, this is where she is leaking. I have checked both oil and transmission fluid levels and they are fine.
Sorry, had too!!! Watched all 3 Sunday on one of the vh1 channels.
It really could be anything. I had oil all over the rear of my engine and front of trans so I thought it was rear main. After I cleaned it all off, it turned out to be the oil cooler on the front left of the engine, V10, leaking. So it can flow from somewhere else while u drive home and then drip over nite. Do like the above and get under there and see if u can determine what type of fluid it is and then see where it is coming from!!!
I would wipe everything dry underneath. Park it on level ground. Put some cardboard or newspaper under it. Idle it for a few minutes and then wait overnight. You should then have the evidence on the paper to determine if it is antifreeze, water, oil, transmission fluid, gasoline, or break fluid. Oh forgot windshield washer fluid.
Once that is known you can concentrate your leak search to specific hoses, gaskets, etc.
fill plug will be just a plug up about mid way that will fit a 3/8 ratchet. Can you tell, it may just be an output shaft seal leaking and running down the tailshaft to the lowest point and dripping off.
