Well, my old '77 has given me lots of trouble these last months. Had to have the wrecker put it back in my driveway last week. Bought me a new (well, not NEW) daily driver. So I think my truck is officially retired as a daily driver.
Still, I had lots of plans for her. At least this way I dont have to be quite as conservative with the rebuild since it will just be a toy/part time hauler.
Engine, transmission and rear end are all up for an overhaul. New black paint job will still be in the works as well.
Red Ryder is dead, but Black Bart will rise again.
Atta boy don't give up. These trucks are GREAT projects at any time. I've been playing with mine for 30 years now( she's FAR from stock) and I'm still having fun doing it. The wife thinks I'm crazier than a pet coon, but at the very least she knows where I'm at and what I'm upto. Good Luck with Black Barts resurection. John
My 2 cents is that you are on the right track. No way I would use my truck as a daily driver, but well worth it to get it back to "new" and be able to use it when I want. There is something very cool about an older truck in good shape!
