Long time, no post
Hello all, been a long time since I have been able to post. I was involved in an accident on April 10th of this year, and ended up in a nursing facility that has NO internet access for its guests So I have been unable to get online. The only reason I am on now is due to my gall bladder attacking me, and they sent me back to the hospital, which DOES have WiFi for its guests.
As far as my recovery goes, I have all the pins, and braces off, and have just recently been able to stand up without assistance. However, my right leg doesn't bend much (only 5 degrees I am told) and I am unable to walk on it at the moment. As for the gall bladder problem, they want to operate on it tomorrow, and I should be back in the nursing facility sometime tomorrow evening or night.
Just wanted to touch base with everyone so you know I am still alive and kicking. With any luck, after I get my settlement, I will once again be a Ford truck owner, and not just an enthusiast, as a friend of mine tells me his sister is willing to sell me her Ford F250 4x4, and a 28ft 5th wheel for $6,500. He is not sure of the year, but thinks it is an '89. The truck is nearby in Selma, but the trailer is in Pismo beach. I don't know anything about the trailer except the length and that it is a 5th wheel. I will, of course, take a look at both of them before I buy them. Luckily, she has put a non-op on it, so no back taxes will be due.

Dang Jim, I don't know how you manage to keep your head up with all the crap that seems to befall you...!Anyway, good to see you posting again and to hear that you may soon be among the ranks of Ford truck owners once again. Keep a stiff upper lip! (And consider getting the heck out of Fresno...that place has not been good to you!)

Hey Dan,
Glad to see you still posting. And happy for the reply, was beginning to think I was being snubbed here. Yeah, I seem to be having a lot of bad luck lately. This is the second accident I had while riding a bike, so I am not going to ride anymore. Bus, or walk until I get the settlement. The bike only sustained minor damage. Just have to true the wheels. I plan on selling it. Me, however, have so far racked up a 291k hospital bill, and having been out of work before the accident, and of course not able to work now, have applied for Medi-Cal. The guy who hit me had insurance, but I am now afraid it might not be high enough to cover all the medical bills, and they will take all my settlement.
If I get approved for Medi-Cal it will cover the bills, and hopefully, allow me to keep any settlement. If so, then I will get the truck and trailer, I may even decid to live in the trailer if I can figure out how to get internet access from it. HughesNet has a satellite service, however, I don;t know if they have a mobile option. Don't want to have to keep parking near a McDonald's just to connect.
Joe, no, the '89 doesn't have a diesel, that was one of the first questions I asked about it.Since it is used to tow the trailer all over the place, I am guessing it has the 460, but it may be the 351. I was kind of hoping it did have the diesel, as I have no experience with them, and it would be a good learning experience. However, for the price, I will accept it no matter which engine it has, but I would prefer the torque monster 460, like I had in the '76

I don't really like the style of the 87-92 series. If she did not insist on selling them together, I would prefer the 85-86, years, or the 93-96 series, as for the efi 460 having no *****, I find that hard to believe since it has more HP and torque than the 76 I had, and that thing was pretty strong. The one on craigslist would be perfect for towing the trailer and I do like dually's, but again, she won't separate the two, and I don;t have the settlement yet. I will most likely replace the front clip with that of the 86,
I am scheduled to be moved back to the nursing facility today, so I don't know when I will be able to post again.
