2006 F250 PSD here....Just wondering how common oil leaks are on this truck? The truck is an '06 with about 113,xxx miles, I noticed a small drip after a few hours of sitting still up near the front part of the engine. IS that premature for an oil leak, or is there no "time-table" for them?....Are diesels more prone to them? I haven't tried to diagnose it yet, probably try to have Ford do it at next service time....
Take a few minutes and trace down the source of the oil leak. From the front of the engine I'd suspect a small oil filter leak.
Diesel engines seem to leak oil more than standard gas engines. This is not a big deal as far as the engine is concerned - you have 15+ quarts of oil in that engine.
My personal feeling is that a diesel engine that does not leak oil, probably doesn't run either....
I agree a diesel generally has the potential to leak more than a gasser. With no vacuum, it has a crancase vent (CCV) while a gasser uses it's vacum to pull air through the crankcase (PCV).
Alrighty, good information here...LOL @ Lou, I love that statement. I will probably take some time next week to chase it down, or may just let the dealer do it when I take it in for service...
clean off the engine with purple power. this will give you and us a better understanding on where the leak(s) are coming from. I would clean the engine ~2 hours after it has been fully warmed up and used.

Thought I had a oil leak at front of engine. Finially cleaned it up and it was the power steering hose.
Wow! Cleaning helps I see.....Question: Anyone ever use any of those "stop leak" products? I have used them in my older Caddies and it worked well (for a little while)...
