Just joined and wanted to say hello and looking forward to getting to know everyone.

I live in Phoenix AZ and have a 2000 Ex V10 Limited 2WD with 155k miles. I also have a 2007 Expedition EL. I bought the Ex brand new in late April 2000 right after the birth of my 3rd child. We ended up with 4 kids and with friends, the Ex is purfect for us. It also has been a great vehicle and very dependable.

It is all original and last month had some difficulty with the negative battrery cable. I ended up fully replacing both cables and decided that there are some projects that are due.

I'm starting with a new stereo system, including speakers. I am told that Ford put a premium system in some Ex's that included an amp but the only way to know is to pull the deck out and check out the wiring harness. They also said that the amp could be in various places in the Ex if there is one. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've not settled on a deck yet, but like the idea of a DVD/monitor unit that will support a rear backup camera. Does anyone have any recommendations on products here?

Also, I want to replace all 6 speakers with a configuration that gets the best sound with installation in the original places. I am told that the original speakers are all 6x8's. I would love to hear what others have done.
