So I pulled the 302 outta my 80 f150 I broke the shaft that surrounds the main shaft goin from tranny inside the torque converter idk what to call it sorry its a c6 trans anyone know if this is changable
If your front pump is good you can replace just the stator support. Here's a breakdown of parts for you to reference. You'll also need to get new seals and gaskets.
The following is from the shop manual (with torque specs please note where INCH and FOOT pounds are indicated):
I'm guessing you didn't un bolt the torque convertor when you were pulling the motor? If you don't feel comfortable changing the front pump, you may be able to to take it to a local trans shop and have them do it for you. Check around.
Yea but they would prolly be high I can go to pull apart get a tranny for 75$
Yep and that $75 tranny may have bad internal parts wich may cost more, or even if they let you return it your still stuck pulling another trans and putting it in. If you can't drive the Junkyard truck consider the trans to be a rebuilder. That's how I see them. When you take it piece by piece it's not a hard job. If you have a local community college they might fix it for you for the price of parts. That way their students can gain real world experience. Plus the instructor should be certified, so it should be in good hands.
Did it break, or did the center shaft come out? I have had the input shaft slide out before, they go right back in... If you actually broke it, that would be something I have never seen accomplished...
I broke the part that surounds the input shaft, if I got a 4speed do I just need slave cyl pedels flywheel? Truck dosent see alot of rd use shes a farm truck
Looks like im getting a trans because im not a tranny guy ill prolly screw that up to
Put it this way, try to see if you can get the front pump out yourself and if you can't, find a known to be good C6. Better to try, than not try at all. Good luck!

I see in the off road forum you mud your truck, so don't even bother with the 4 spd.
Ah, ok. Still think you should try and fix your C6... other things you'll need to do the 4 spd swap is the trans tunnel cover and pedal supports. Not sure if there are different crossmembers between the manuals and autos. You could probably use the search option, as I know there's been a ton of threads regarding this. Up to you as far as what way is easiest for your comfort level.... Though I'd still fix the C6...
