Rear bumper question

I'm exploring some possibilities with this '84 that was just acquired. The rear bumper is one of those solid metal-painted style. The one on this truck is rusted (surface) and I was thinking of just giving it a $2 paint job (silver). But the thought had crossed my mind that I could get another bumper from a 87-96 truck that is chrome. How much would one of those be at a junkyard? I don't need it for towing because there is already a receiver hitch on the truck for that. But would a newer chrome bumper be able to just bolt on? Would the license plate light interchange? I know the width would be right and I do believe that a newer one would clear the receiver hitch. I just need a little advice from someone who knows these trucks a little better.

Rear bumper question

Rear bumper from 1980-1996 will fit with no modifacations. You may have to change lic plate lights but that detail is minor

Rear bumper question

I put the bumper from a '90 on my '86 and there's a gap between it and the bottom of the tailgate that makes it look like it has a body lift...
