I bought a 1968 F250 Camper Special a couple of years ago from the original family. The gentleman that had it put a chrome Fey bumper on it. The bumper isn't bad, but, it does look a little flimsy toward the ends of it, and it just doesn't look original.

I would like to find either an original Ford F250 Camper Special step bumper, or one of those good old solid aftermarket step bumpers that are virtually bulletproof, and useful as a step too. Anybody know of any shops out there that sell these bumpers?? Also, do I need the bumper brackets with a step bumper like you need with the styled "front bumper" looking rear bumper? Thanks for the help!

 

Try to find one that doesn't require the brackets. I have heard of them going as high as $200.00 on Ebay.

Listings from 65 to 72 will work on the truck.

I have one that came on my 68 that I'm not using. I kind of bent it when I backed into a light pole in the late 70's. I don't want to ship it; I'm in Gainesville, GA.

 

there is some good aftermarket ones. i got one for ,y 75 made from 3/16'' rectangle tube and has 5/8'' mounting and tow hitch brackets. the thing is massive weighs at least 300 lbs. took 3 of us to get it in place. 2 days aftergetting it on there i was rear ending by a saturn the saturn went under the bumper. ruined the nice paint job but my truck was unharmed. so i think the bumper paid for itself.

 

I have the original bumper that has the diamond plate markings on it on the top and is painted black. It bolts directly to the frame very easily. It is in excellant shape. I live in Iowa about 1 Hour and a half from EliZa,IL Or New Boston, IL. 65 dollars and its yours. Mybe I can meet you in GrandView, IA or something. I have several other parts as well off of a 7o F250 custom with dual tanks.

Mike...You may have just what I am looking for, and not too far away either. I live in the Chicago area, and travel downstate frequently. Meeting somewhere is doable, just don't know when. Do you happen to have any digital pictures of the bumper? Also, does it need any brackets or anything, or do you have everything I would need? Is it rust free? Let me know how I can reach you.
