4.6 getting stuck
Hi im swapping engines and i got a donor 4.6 for my vehicle. But my only concern was that i was spinning the engine and it suddenly got stuck and would not budge rotating it clockwise. I rotated it counter clockwise and then clockwise and it was good. I checked the the rods and no play in the bearings my thoughts is that maybe the rings had grime or the timing chain binded. Any ideas the engine i got had a couple of spark plugs out so maybe some dirt got in. You think ill be good or should i get another engine? Thanks lmk

JMO but I wouldn't install that engine until I'd gone into it and found the problem.
Again, jmo, I wouldn't install a used engine without going through it UNLESS I could hear and see it run before the swap.

I have heard old engine-folklore that says using a product called "Mystery Oil" on an engine that has sat for a period of time will help it get moving again. They say pour it right in the spark plug wells on top of the pistons.
I suspect most lubricants would help dry cylinders/pistons.
