I have a 2005 with the Automatic and a 6.0 motor. This last weekend I was towing the trailer and stopped for a little bit when I went to go again out it in gear the truck would not move the RPM's would pick up but no going anywhere. Got pulled to where I needed to be and unhooked from trailer and pulled out from under the trailer. It set for a little while started it up and it was good to go. 1 thing that did happen in the middle was I put it into 4wd, possible the Transfer Case didnt engage but not sure. Anyways at the end of the trip drove 3 hours home and seemed good other than up long hills when downshifting it seemed to have a little bit of a howling noise. Normal not Normal, this truck is new to me! Thanks for any help!
How many miles on the transmission ion? How big is your tow? How long have you owned it? Have you been changing out the fluid every 30K?
My 2005 transmission was starting to get weak before I sold it. It'ss kinda had the same issue that your describe. Get the transmission to a GOOD repair shop. I would not drive truck until it is repaired. Transmission are tricky repair it once and move on.
There is an excellent chance you have figured it out, and the t-case was in neutral. That is exactly what you would get. No forward, no reverse, no drive at all. Do you have ESOF or manual 4wd shift?
Took truck to tranny shop, they said no transmission problems and that it had a couple codes, 1 was speedo sensor code, and another was transfer case contact code or something like that. They said the tranny had no codes and seemed to be fine.
