Has anybody else had issues with their turnover ball contacting the shock? I have Rancho 9000XLs on my F-250 and a turnover ball. The clamping piece that goes around the frame contacts the shock when loaded. It looks like I need to grind away some of this plate for clearance. Anyone else run into this?
I've got a TurnOver ball on my 05 F-350 and haven't had any issues with the frame mounting hardware of the unit portruding enough to contact the shock (assuming I'm understanding your question). I've been loaded up to GVWR with pallets of bricks and haven't had any rubbing. The plate fits flush to the frame rail and doesn't add that much thickness on my install. I don't have Rancho's though.
I will have to take a picture. I did end up taking my angle grinder to the piece to make some clearance. I talked to a friend of mine who has an 08 3/4 ton and the stock shocks and he said that his too has very little clearance.
Alright, I think I have this licked. I will post pictures after I get back this evening. I took the angle grinder to the "c" looking piece to make clearance. I also was able to get the muffler moved down using some spacers so now the exhaust has clearance. The tail pipe could even be brought back to the stock location but I think I heard it hit once on the test drive so I may have to move that back down. Not terribly impressed with B&W and their crappy powdercoating and the fact that I have to clearance this damn thing for the shocks. Oh well.
Did they change their design or something? My B&W doesn't have that clamping strap, just the side plates that bold to the frame. And the plate looks a lot heavier on mine.
Mine was installed when I bought the truck, but I remember going through the installation instructions before I bought the truck, because I intended to have one. I don't remember seeing anything like that before.
Well... I just looked at the installation docs online for the model that fits a 99-07, and it looks like those pictures. I'm just sure that back when I was looking at them, back in '07 when I bought my truck, it didn't look like that.
It should have come with spacers for the exhaust as well as a bracket so you can drop the pipe exit about an inch.
My 2008 has plenty of clearance all around. The only issue is the ball contacting the differential housing when the ball is inverted and i have a full load.
I think they did change it. This is in their obsolete documents section. It's for a Model 1105, which is for 99-06 trucks. This looks like what I have. I wonder if something changed on the truck in 07.

Yup, it is an 1108. There was a tailpipe bracket and the tailpipe still hit on the hitch head with the pipe spaced down. I seem to have misplaced the spacers for the exhaust so I bought some at the hardware store yesterday.
The diff housing clearance I believe is called out for the 4x2 trucks. I wonder how much different the exhaust is on the diesels versus the gas trucks and clearance.

i have a gas pickup, and the exhaust would have hit the hitch body if I had not lowered it... the instructions specify diesel, but I'm thinking they never tested an F250 4x2
