Wicked wheel?

Is this really an upgrade for our trucks? I keep hearing it doesn't do much..

i helps stop the turbo for surging. it is just cheaper than a bigger turbo. it is a mod i dont know if i would call it a upgrade?

i dont have a problem with my turbo surging so for me no. if you have a lot surging it is a cheap fix, it is up to you. others will chime in that have one and will have a better answer to that question.

i dnot think the gtp38r will fit it is bigger, you have to get the hole turbo.

The WW is also louder, from what I've heard.

The wicked wheel changes the power band to the lower rpm range. It spools faster, but not as much.

I was getting surge pulling my camper. This stopped it.

To the op, are you running a programmer or chip? Also what year is your truck?

I had surge on my f250, the wicked wheel cured that. It was well worth the money there, but my Excursion has no surge even while towing heavy, so I would't even think of putting the wicked wheel on.... That is until I get the DP on my Excursion and get enough boost for surge haha.

How does one identify surge? What are the symptoms?

you will hear a woosing sound and the boost gauge will jump around.
