Truck is a 93 f150 2wd with e4od. Engine is a mildly built 5.8 from an 89. I don't want to spend an arm an a leg but I want a good set of long tubes for it.
Not sure on the cost but i hear the Pacesetter LTs fit the best on these trucks. Figures i ordered the flowtechs before learning this.(don't order the Flowtechs).
I just installed the Pacesetter's. I love them. Perfect fit, and it allows me to keep EGR so I got rid of the annoying check engine light and gained a few MPGs back.
If you live in a place where rust is an issue, id check out the Hooker Darkside long tube headers. They're ceramic coated which will help them last a long time so youre definitely getting your money's worth.
do the pacesetters fit even with lifted 4x4? i bought the flowtechs cuz i knew i'd have to bend the drivers side to get them to sneak by the d-shaft, and they were cheap and they really arent a bad design for power (just fitment from the complaints i see about them)
I put flowtechs on my 86 and they fit great. I was really surprised they fit so well for the price. But like said I would get some ceramic coated headers. Even the header paint I used on mine didnt last too long.

my motto is "painted or stainless". ceramic coating is hit or miss, and no matter what ya get it'll flake over the years (some coatings last longer than others, given the driving conditions, and the quality of the coat). theres no such thing as a painted header, just a "protective shipping coating". that bein said, if im spendin the extra duckets on ceramic coating, im gonna just go SS and never give it another thought.
i was actually surprised with the flowtechs also. when i did mine, i ordered 3 different sets of headers out of jegs, picked which ones would be the best candidate for what i was doin (i knew i'd have to bend them to fit past the d-shaft on my lifted truck), and returned the others. the flowtechs not only fit decent for bein damn near 100 bucks, they were actually quite a bit larger than the hooker and other brand i bought (cant remember the 3rd). the hookers were dinky, especially on the pass side. no doubt the flowtechs are cheap, but they arent bad, and they are literally identical to a few other "big names" that charge a little more for the exact same header. . . . . . . . . . .
