I'm ashamed to say, it was getting my dumb behind unstuck! Went to Keana Point today to get some "Purty" pictures of the new truck. Was in 4x2 the entire time and on the way out I saw a dried up mud puddle. Figured what the heck and went through it...well, part way.
Truck was about 1/2 way across and then just sank to the frame. The upper crust had dried and was about 5" thick. After that, it was nothing but goey clay/mud stuff. That crust held for a few seconds, and then cracked.
I sank up to my knee and lost my shoes in the mud when I was trying to find the bottom. In the pics below, you can see the ruts. They are about 6 feet long, and slimy as heck. I had to shovel a rut behind the tires that was 4 feet long.
Ended up using a RAM 3500 (with 6.7), and a Jeep with a winch. The RAM couldn't budge me at first. The Jeep had a winch and with the 2 of them yanking on me, I finally dug out. We were fixing to hook up the Chevy 3500 and triple yank, but something finally worked
Lessons learned - Screw mud, that PSD over the axle is one heavy mother, BFG tires suck in the mud/clay (don't self clean), get to take the rims off later and clean the mud off the rims and axle...fun)

We tried just winching at first, but that poor little jeep got dragged. The truck actually moved back about 1 foot with the Jeep anchoring. But we dragged the jeep about 5 feet.
It was a ugly situation. I can't believe how deep that rut was. Very sneaky and ready to screw you over. Luckily my ruts will make it obvious to everyone else how bad that hole is.
I spent 1 hour on my back digging mud/clay out of the rims and brakes so I could get home. The stuff made the rims unbalanced and undriveable. Luckily, the remaining stuff just fell off when I was using the hose on it.
Glad to share. It was a fun drive until that happened. Have never been stuck badly enough that it took 2 vehicles to retrieve. Lesson has been learned
edit: btw, no winch for this truck. Then I'd be temped to do something even more stupid. although, a nice 15,000 lb warn on a reciever mount would be nice....hmmm

The tint was there when I bought it. It's 5%...and illegal. I have to pull the front windows and get them redone at 30-35%. Windows are so dark I can't see out to drive at night. Even the windshield has 35%!
