acceleration stumble when cold

2006 V6 explorer stumbles only when cold other then that it runs great

any ideas its been doing it for a month i tried fuel treatment didnt help ,water remover no help, no codes either

Is it a single stumble on acceleration or a more of a series of sputters? What is the engine speed at idle when cold? Do you have access to a scan tool with datastream mode? When's the last time a tune up was performed (spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter)? I suspect your 2006 has Coil on Plug (CoP) ignition. Have you checked fuel pressure? You might try cleaning the MAF sensor as well. If you don't have access to the sensor datastream, there will be some guessing as to where to start.

tune up was done 2 months ago no problems then, no scan tool
its a series of 4 stumbles only when cold i will try to clean the MAF sensor tonight, i have not checked the fuel pressure , i dont even now were to start with that

You need to borrow a scan tool

It may be the coolant temp (NOT dash gauge) is sending a hot engine signal to the CPM, causing lean stumble when cold... Philip

A scan tool (scanner) includes live data by default, if not it is a code reader...

I have made several recommendations in the past 2 months, maybe you could try a search... Philip
