MC removal

I am removing my stock mc to rebuild it. What has someone use to remove the spring? Several attempts and I was unsuccessful.

I had trouble with a spring like that once and used a plastic zip tie to remove it. Get a medium sized zip tie (the one that's about an 1/8th once wide or wider). Make a big loop out of it and hook it over the end of the spring (probably on the engine side). Now you can pull on that loop or pry on it with a bar or something from a distance and it wont break your knuckles.

EDIT: Are you sure you need to remove that spring? If the push rod connected to the pedal is okay, I would just reccommend that you leave that part alone and just replace the MC. (Unless the 53 is really different from the bonus builts)

Been awhile since I did any work on mcs. The mc will pull off the plunger? How hard will it be to get it back on?

Not hard at all. Just make sure you get a new rubber boot with the new master cylinder. Again, I'm ASSUMING that the 53's have the same type setup at the 48-52's. The rod just pops through the boot and seats itself into the master cylinder.
