Engine Model

Is the engine model stamped on the block somewhere? I know there is a decal under the hood but want to make sure the engine has not been swapped with something else.

No, only physical recognition, post some pictures and we'll tell you which engine you have. But a simple rule: If it's an I6, then it's the 300, if it's a V8, check for the water pump at the front, if one of the screws holding it in place seem to reach the heads, it's a 302, if it's a couple inches farther then it's a 351.

There is a casting number on the block. On the bottom near starter usually on the V8s. Sometimes have to pull starter off to see and wipe crud off block.
