The photo in post 10 is my truck. On that install I used a square computer heat sink cut in half. The top of the photo shows a white module, which was my ride along spare.
The photo in this post is one I made completely sourced from junk yard parts. The heat sink was off a newer truck where the EECIV ingition modules were fender mounted, in a effort to stop heat related failures.
Note the push on connectors. You will also need the mating connection for the distributor.
Good luck on your junk yard search.
Jim
So it looks like you have tied the dist. ground and the module ground together and that to the module screw.
Is the heat sink then screwed to a metal part on the truck to ground the whole assy.?

The photo above shows the DS2 ground location, where 3 wires change to 2 wires.
On my truck, see photo post 10, both the distributor and the GM 4 pin module were ground to the metal engine.
On the previous post photo (post 31) the ground point would be inside the distributor and also the heat sink, if it was mounted to metal.
If you go back an reread post 10, the engine quit when I disconnected the black ground wire, even though both ends were grounded to the engine.
You can never have to many good ground points.
Jim
If you look at that pickup coil assy. Authentic wire pull, back thing with that thing off the side with a hole. That is the ground when it is screwed in place.
