I have just recently purchased a 78 F150 2WD with a 460 in it. As usual it sits a little low in the front. Is there a set of after market springs, or maybe some from a same year F250 with factory 460 that I could swap out to get the front end up a little?
I would rather not put any of the coil spring lift devices as they don't seem to stay put. Hope some one has a better remedy.
I have a stack of all the free ones so I can compare who has what available and what the going rate for certain parts are.
Same here. They also serve as a price guide on JY or swap meet trips so ya don't overpay (depending on what the part is) or to get a really good deal. For example, I picked up an early Ranger XLT glove box emblem for $2... retail is $30.... and I passed on the deal to fellow FTE'er broncntruckaholic .
1/8 inch , I took the spring off and the bottom spring cup retainer and nut and found washers at ace hardware and slipped them over the eye beam bolt and nut , the washers came up to the top of the nut so they would not slip or move , think it was three or four big washers and the whole in the washers were big enough to go over the nut then put the cup over that and wala instant lift and not going anywhere .
Bye the way for the rest of us , this is a cheap fix for neg camber fix for our i beam trucks , then you dont have to buy new springs and can lift the sag with one washer at a time to 0 camber , I noticed alot of owners have this problem with neg camber and wearing tires , I lowered my truck and had the i beams bent and then cut one more coil which was to low so instead of buying new springs I used washers and fixed it .
