Truck fire.

After seeing this I`m sold on the benefits of having a fire extinguisher in
vehicles.

I keep fire extinguishers in the shop and one in my dump truck. I dont keep em in everything though, I got good insurance to take care of that haha

Could have been saved if he had an extinguisher right at the start. Frustrating to watch. I have had extinguisher training a couple times through work. I carry one.

Insurance is far better than a fire extinguisher

We have them on all our farm and construction equipment. On my personal vehicle, I would look at it as a golden opportunity to upgrade. Take the cash insurance money into the marketplace and upgrade for a very reasonable amount...

Just a little elbow grease and you can buff the smoke out of the truck. HE HE.

Too bad looked like a nie truck. I wonder what made it spread so fast. There were too many cheifs when he was extinguishing it. If he kept going at the top before the bottom He would of possibly smothered the top. But the extinguisher also looked a little late. It seemed the interior was starting to go then.

It is sad that a fine looking truck now will be going to the scrap pile.

Insurance costs a whole lot more than an extinguisher.

I burned my wife's GMC to the ground last month ..turbo lit the inside of the hood and in about the same 4 minutes it was completely engulfed ..and we dumped a 20 pound dry cem into the fire ..same result ..and insurance didn't cover what we had put into it in the last 2 years let alone the value of the truck...

I am not sure if you have the same process as here(is it still ICBC out there?) using arbitration. It allows for the special circumstances where a vehicle is nowhere close to the 'average' that insurance bases values on.
Use vehicle options, mtce records, pictures, and bills for repairs and accessories to show your vehicle is worth more - it works here...
One other improvement in SGI is that you can take what they give you and arbitrate for the balance rather than keeping all your money and holding you ransom until you settle like it was in the past - I hope it doesnt sound like I'm a big fan of SGI though, just pointing ouit facts FYI
