Question ANOTHER SCAN GAUGE QUESTION

Saw this mentioned in a recent thread and I have a few questions after using he SGII for a bit.

How many have used Diesel 1 or Diesel 2? Whar differences are there for us 6.0 owners? Does the MY make a difference for us?

Using the MPG gauge, it seemed to be "normal" on a level road and moderate hills, but when going up a pretty good hill, the MPG numbers started going into the rediculously high MPG figures.....like 365MPG when it should be like 4 MPG.... (pulling my trailer).

FSS goes into OVER 100% reading when oil temps hit 230. How can the % fan speed go over 100 %. Yes, I'm using the newest codes for it.

I appreciate any and all responses....... As I'm "on the road", I am dependant on getting WiFi signals to get in here..... so, I'll be watching here when I can.....

Here is the link to the manual. If you have a smart phone you should download a copy .

http://www.scangauge.com/wp-content/...Manual_4-2.pdf

Page 15:
DIESELa and dieselb don't represent different types of fuel. They select the way fuel consumption is computed based on the way the computer reports sensor data.
To set up:
With ENGINE SIZE set, and engine idiling, select DIESELa. Bring up gauges for RPM and GPH and note GPH. bring engine up to about 1500 RPM and note GPH again. If GPH increases you have DIESELa. If it stays the same or decreases you have DIESELb.

It's been awhile for me but I dont't remember changing to dieselb. I think our trucks are DIESELa.

The FSS I am using calculates RPM's. I could never get the duty cycle to work correctly. Here is the code I'm running for FSS and the DC that doesn't work for me:
FSS 07E022099F 04620509069F 3010 000100040000 FAN SPEED SENSOR
FDC 07E022091F 04624509061F 3010 013103E80000 FAN SPEED DUTY CYCLE

Mine will not read DUTY CYCLE either..... my FSS codes were ALMOST the same as yours except my 000100040000 was 10000 at the end.... I set it as yours and will watch it....we won't be pulling out of this campground in S. Hero, VT until Monday and we'll be into mountains between here and Concord, MA so we'll be able to see it it still does it.

Guess no one has an answer about the mileage question.....

Not really sure why your MPG is acting the way it is. I used it a while back, and worked fine in mine, but I haven't used it at all in the past year.

Try what Rusty suggested about Diesela and Dieselb. I had to do the same with mine but I also have a different year model.

The difference in the FSS code is that the sensor reports 4 times actual speed therefore the 4 instead of the 1 in the code. I bet it reads correctly for you now.

mine would do the same as yours on the MPG bouncing all over the place 5miles to 9999mpg so I called SG and they went over some settings and it was determined that I needed a SG that was programed diffrently so they sent me a new one and I returned the one I had when I got the new one now it works as avertised

I've already got the latest version.... about a month old now.....Normally it's just fine un til I go up a big hill towing.....the MPG keeps getting lower (as it should) until it goes below 3MPG, then it starts showing triple digit numbers like 365 or 434 MPG. Haven't seen it do it not towing....YET!
