Front U-Joints

Hello,
I would like to replace the front axle u-joints on my 89 f150 4x4. What size are they? I want to make sure I order the right ones.

Oi. I just did this on my truck. Easiest way to figure it out is to take the axles out and take em up to the parts warehouse. I have a Dana 44 on the front of mine and there are a bunch of options for U-joints. I bought a set that was "guaranteed" to be the right ones and when I got my axle shafts out, they were wrong so I went back to Oreillys and they pulled out 2 more sets. Ended up being the second set. So, thats 3 total possibilities that I saw.

Oreillys doesnt really use part numbers I can make out on this part, but if it means anything, it says "Pre 371" on the receipt. Cost about 33 bucks for both.

[edit] Found it. This is what mine took. But there were other options available.. I just used the store I went to for the exchange.. so you would need to change that but the part number looks like its 371.

Hey thanks for the info. How many does the front end have 2 or 3?

I just did mine and I put the greasable ones in. So they shoud last a long time I hope, put them in my 87 F150 years ago still going strong.

There should be 3, one in the middle and one behind each front wheel. If you got time spray some WD40 on them first, once a day for a couple of days sure helps
