Hi!
New to this forum (I am a regular on digitalcorvettes and corvetteforum).
I just found a 48 pickup for my daughter (she will be signing up soon).
We have been looking for about a year now, and the last couple of weeks we even hit the boneyards in Decatur for possibilities! Nothing panned out.. they were either too far gone or stripped to the bone. One dealer has a few possibilities, but he wants way too much $2k-3k for trucks without engines.
I just stumbled upon this jem today! Did a "oh what the heck" craigslist search in OK, and found this deal. I called the owner and we'll be driving up to his place this Saturday to bring her home!
That is a good find! I see over $800 worth of parts, lucky he didn't part it out. What's under the hood? A lot of work ahead, but it will be a great bonding experience that she will never forget.
Welcome to You and your Daughter, . looks like you got a good deal, this is a friendly place so let us in on your project, post pics, ask questions, or answer some, congratulations.
Do you know if it's an F1, F2 or F3? Looks to be an F2 or F3 in the picture. F1 were half-ton and command higher prices than the F2, F3 and larger trucks. F2 were 3/4 ton and F3 were heavy duty 3/4 ton. There are some body and running gear (suspension) differences between the F1 and F2/3 trucks.
