i have a 1986 f-250 4x4 351w both gas tanks are leaking i replaced the sidemount with a new tank and unhooked rear tank it seems like i am losing gas so no signs of leaking have checked when motor is off and running i do know my guage works fine when full to 3/4 but i am losing gas
i do have a locked gas cap. thank you
Are you sure your sending unit and gauges are working right? My sending unit in my rear mount tank is shot (front one is totally dead), and it drops real quick if it has anything less than a quarter tank....then on top of that, the gauges fluctuate because the voltage regulator for the gauges (Instrument Voltage Regulator) is going bad, so my gas gauge is WAY off sometimes. Oil pressure too...
You know for certain that they're leaking, or you're guessing?
thank you do know where i could get a sending unit side mount 19 gallon i do not have fuel injected the only sending units i can find are the ones for fuel injected with fuel pump in tank
I think he was asking for the sending unit for a 19 gallon midship tank, per above post.
The number I found was E5TZ-9275-G.
May have been superceeded, I have no way of knowing.
Green Sales shows to have 21 of them, with that number.
Shows to fit "85/86 F150/350 - all 6 & 8 cyl. exc. 460 - non-efi gas engines - unleaded fuel. Use with 19 gal. midship tank - includes (1)E1VZ-9417-B gasket."

You're right, I blew it so I deleted my post. I'll try and look some more later and see what the parts book says for the midship tank, not the one by the rear axle.

Could be.
But, did you also see:
E5TZ-9275-JA GAUGE ASSY. (FUEL TANK UNIT)
Fits 1985/86 F250/350 8 cyl. 351, 460 w/133", 155" & 168.4" wheelbases; Two tubes; includes (1) E1VZ-9417-B gasket.
There's also one listed for a 17 gallon plastic tank but I believe those were used only on the Flaresides (aka stepside).
In any event, I'd still remove the old and give Green Sales a call.
