gas guage
'87 f-150 with two gas tanks and the guage reads that the rear tank is full all the time and the front tank is on empty, but i cant see if the front works or not because i cant fill it up because it has a hole in it (what kind of gas tank do i need to get, front tank short bed). how do i see what is wrong with my guage, ive heard that its not the sending unit but somethin about the ground in the guage. whats wrong with it and how do i fix it. thanks

Both of my gas gauges didnt work in my 87 but i have to get a new tank and now i have a gas gauge on the front tank. They are not cheap mine was around 300 i think for a new one dont quote me on that though.
