99 350 tranfercase problem
i have a 99 f-350 manual hubs i am having problems with 4 low i know how to engauge it. the problem is sometimes it will try to go in but seems to act like it is in nutral otheir times it will kick out ,and some times the light will not even come on in the dash. the 4 high has know problems working at all. any ideas would be helpful from you guys. i was thinking of changing the transfer case motor to see if that would fix it. but thought i would see what you all think first.

i can hear it click in 4 high and it holds like it is suposed to. when you put it in gear and step on the gas in the yard the chain does not jump and the case does not make any strange noise. but you can
hear a strange sound when it desides to try to go into low. witch is on its own terms evidently. thats what got me thinking the motor set up might not be working correctly. thanks for responding any help is welcome.

changed the motor seems that would have been to simple. after changing the motor and not having any luck. i thought it was time to look at it a little differently, so i removed the motor and tried to do it manually.still could not get it in low all the way and noticed that the gear shaft seems to be kind of sticking when going from 4 high to 4 low. so i took the transfer case out last night. will look the thing over closer tonight.
