Hello Murray, and welcome to the site. Your problem could be caused by a plethora of parts. As always, retrieve the codes and see what does the ECM has to tell you. If it's due, replace the sparkplugs and wires, and also the distributor cap and rotor. Then take a multimeter and test the TPS. After this, in your case I would be checking injectors and fuel supply.
