Alignment?

Alignment?
I have been paying attention to my alignment and I am not quite sure what to make of it. On the highway today it was pulling to the left and when I came home driving along my normal state routes it was pulling to the right. Does this make any sense? It doesn't pull hard but if I let go of the wheel it starts steering in either direction depending on where I am.

KC8QVO Check Tire pressure first. then check for steering wheel center hold even and center see if it drifts. If Pressure checks out and it drifts with steering centered. Alignment is necessary

I have been dealing with alignment issue's since new on 2011 F250. Pulls right all the time. See my thread "a couple of issue's help". Tire replaced, rim replaced, two alignments later and still pulls right. Someone said this morning to swap the front tires side to side and if it pulls to the left instead of the right, my tires are bad. Does that make any sense to anyone? I'm lost and getting discouraged.Thanks, Mark

And if it fixes it. they still need to warranty defective tire. or after a few rotates you wont know where that tire is And yes a bad tire on rear can make it pull to the right or left. it's just not as strong a pull.

Ok, I swapped front tires from right to left and no change. Still pulls right. Tested on I-95 going north, going south, all 3 lanes on both sides. Does not matter, pulls right. What I did notice is when going straight, my steering wheel is pointed slightly left. If you square it up, you will run off the right side of the road everytime. Steering wheel installed wrong or something? Thinking out loud again!!

Steering wheel needs to be centered and the alignment should be checked when doing so. A small adjustment will make a big difference and to keep it stable they should adjust to error on the higher toe in, but both sides must be matched closely as a few degrees difference from side to side will show up in the handling. Just my 2 cents. Each tire and rim balance
Ng should be checked and ruled out. After balancing they need to be re spun to ensure the balance is correct. Even taking them off and on the balancer could help to show a separated belt in the tire.

Duane. Usually that adjustment took care of it wandering back and forth.
Now on rare ocassion uou could get a gear box that had morning sickness. that would cause one to pull. pressure leaking past the spool valve seals.that was easy to diagnose. have frt tires off ground. start up in morning cold, rev engine up some,and it would spin steerring wheel to end stop without touching strg wheel.

Called my service advisor this morning and told him that we needed to do something. Just leaving it alone and monitoring the tire wear was not acceptable. Told him that there is a problem and it needed to be fixed. He said that he was going to talk to his service manager as to what to do next.
