Well, looks like gold wasn't the only metal to go up in value! I hauled a load of steel in today and made $388 for 3100 pounds and I made another $500 in two loads of scrap metal.

Three more loads of scrap tomorrow to haul.
But I'm worn out. Time to go soak in the hot tub!
Dang, that is pretty good. That's over $100 a thousand. Might be worth me hauling a load. For me, its so far to the nearest scrapyard that if its not pretty high, and if I don't have a decent load, its not worth it.

Hope everyone's having a good evenin'
Prepared steel is $13.00 per 100 (clean and less than 4ft)
Unprepared steel $12.00 per 100 (uncut)
Mixed assorted scrap $10.75 per 100
My best load was the steel. I had 3 rearends out of dump trucks, close to 10 wheels and 4 drums off of the dump trucks and several smalls like flywheels, driveshafts etc. 3140lbs. according to the scales.
Today I have to figure out how to cram a S-10 in the bed of my truck. I don't have any torches but I do have a backhoe. I'm thinking I can rip the bed off and fold the frame over under itself, them mash each side in and it should sit down inside my bed.
On the second load I can mash in the bed sides and put it in then load some more scrap on top of that.
I hope
Plus, I got a call this morning to haul in some engines and transmissions from another place.
