Maintenance, Grease?

We all talk about how much maintaining these trucks is important.

I have been "home alone" today, and of course, I spent time with Her.

After doing the ICP change (late build, valve cover kind) and adding the blue fuel spring, I grabbed my grease gun.

It hasn't been too long, since my last visit.

But, I got to thinking. I haven't read very much about doing the grease zerks on the front end.

My 04 F350 has 4 that I kind find. Have I missed some somewhere else?

I did check the u joints on the drive shaft, couldn't feel any there.

Mine has fittings on each of the tie rod ends and one on each front axle u-joint.

I have seen some claim that the front axle u-joints don't have them, and some claim that they do. I know mine does, and I have no reason to believe they are not stock.

Yeah, that is where mine are. Had to turn the one to get the gun on it this time.

I try to do mine every oil change. Except the last change I had forgotten. So I did it today, noticed they accepted quite a bit of grease.

So, I wont forget next time.

The newer the truck, generally the fewer the grease fittings.

I think they stopped putting them on the steering linkages in '05.

well IMO that sucks

IMO a servicable balljoint would last longer

I had a mechanic tell me to get a shot needle and shoot some grease in there on that newer non servicable crap

I guess I will see if my new Moogs BJ last longer than that non servicable stuff

Boy all the upgrades ford claimed to do to the 05 and up are they really upgrades or more like downgrades [look at all the square egr cooler blowouts compared to the round egr coolers]
almost like they want stuff to make it thru the warrenty period and then who cares if it fails

thats what Im told to about 05 and up

Ford didnt do any favors on 05 and up slammed it with a bunch of parts that might only make it threw the warrenty period

Aint those square egr coolers and Stc fitting great

But they are great trucks when you change some things out
