Who do you use to ship larger used parts like doors, bumpers, axles etc. They exceed UPS,Fedex, and USPS size or weight limits.I know people do it somehow, and trucking co's add up to more than the stuff is worth.Any ideas?Im sure this isnt the right place to post this, but none of the other forums seemed right either. And Im sure some of you guys have been through it before. Thanks again in advance.
Larger items ship by truck. The shipper needs to get the parts crated or banded to a pallet and delivered to a truck terminal. On the receiving end, they need to be picked up at the truck terminal. If you can do it that way, shipping is pretty inexpensive. I just checked on a trailer kit. The kit is for a tandem axle flatbed trailer and contains both axles, wheels, tires, lighting, springs-everything except the bed/frame. The weight is about 900 lbs. Shipping from central Texas to the Detroit area is $140.00 if I pick it up at the terminal.
I checked on the UPS site and it says that the bumper exceeds the size limits. Its a plain 79 F-series front bumper! One place said $80 from CT to FL.Thats nuts.
You'll have to have it shipped truck freight. I bought a hood from cervini's that was over the limit and it cost 75 bucks.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
Thats it for now, saving for a stang. Check out my Gallery for a look-see.

We ship them 2-3 times per week via UPS. Ignore what it says, package the bumper without the size and ship it.... it'll go. According to our driver they are well within the limits but their web site is a little strict about interpretation.
3 months ago I toured the newest
UPS shipping center, for a conveyor
geek it was seriously cool, and could
handle packages up to 7' in lenght,
so a bumper would be no problem for
them. Just as long as it was less than
75lbs, its good...
