Need some engine help
i have a 85 f-150 with a bad 302 carbed motor,i have a 86 efi 302 that i want to use,will it work?what will i have to change keeping the EFI system?

I would not recommend installing the EFI into the carbed truck. It's too much hassle, too many wires, the fuel tanks have to be changed along with the fuel lines, etc.
I would take the EFI motor and strip the EFI stuff off the top, and pull the front of the engine down to the timing chain. Check the chain, it probably needs replaced. To easily get the timing cover off, you need to loosen the oil pan, so I would go ahead and take it off and wipe it out. Check online for a complete gasket kit for the engine. I found it was cheaper to get a complete gasket kit and not use the head gaskets, than buying the individual gaskets.
Strip the blown up motor down on the front also. You will be using the:
Camshaft/fuel pump eccentric
Timing cover
Fuel pump
Waterpump
valve cover gaskets
brackets and pulleys
intake and carb
and whatever else it takes to make the newer EFI engine look like the carbed engine.
