Have a '96 F350 7.3 Powerstroke that is hard to start and misses about 5 minutes after running. When I shut itoff it will immediately starts but if it is sets for over 5 minutes its difficult to start again. It seems to run fine withing the first five minutes. It doesn't start missing until it warms up.
We tested the injectors and found two were bad. We changed all injectors with rebuilt Ford injectors. Tested them after installation and they are all in spec. Checked the fuel filter and it was dirty/ changed. We checked the high pressure oil pump and it checked normal. Ran the truck around the shop and it is still doing the same thing.
We do suspect at some time this truck has had some dirty fuel.
We are wondering what to look at next? Any help would be appreciated.
On a side note we have also notice the alternator becoming very hot and not charging like it should. Would this have something to do with it?
