Because the wave action and old built up shell sediment is so thick in the water YOU CAN NOT see your hand, or even your wrist - at three meters of depth anywhere near the surf line. It's impossible. EVEN ON A SUNNY DAY!!!
THAT TO ME is scary.
And you come out of the water with all kinds of crap all over you....
There is no comparison at all to, say - Fiesta Island in Mission Bay San Diego.
You can see EVERYTHING in Mission Bay, even paddling around on the surface you can see the bottom like crystal!
