You could just make some out of some 1/8" stainless steel and tap whatever size screw hole in it. I used studs to mount a roof box on my bars since there is no room underneath the rails to put a clamp mechanism on. I don't know why the bars have to be right on top of the roof. Ford designers wanted the X to fit in a "standard garage" so the roof rack was made as low as possible to get it under a 7' garage door opening.
I decided to upgrade my halogen light bar to LED. The old one was wide enough to bolt directly to the roof rack rails...this one was too narrow.
I set it up on top of the cross members (luckily I hadn't thrown them out yet) and found that the rubber feet lined up directly over the center slots on the cross members. The feet were too wide - until I reversed them and removed the rubber feet...made it bolt up perfectly.
