Maybe we can do like the Amish. All of us can help each other build each others garages. Tim was just bragging about buying a new nail gun........or maybe we should just hire some Amish and let them build our garages while we sit and watch.

I think my stepdad is wanting to build a new shop at the house. Think he's wanting 2 or 3 bays in it. Not sure yet, but I'm pretty sure he wants concrete in this one. Ours currently is just a dirt floor. haha

Woody,

I hope I wasn't bragging... Just sharing my excitement. After all, there is nothing like power tools for reducing a pile of lumber into a pile of scrap.

Are there any Amish around here?

I'm up for a barn building...... However, once you see my handiwork you may give me the job of sitting in the shade and directing all the qualified workers. Remember the old adage: Those who can do. Those who can't teach!

Howdy gain ya'll, I started working on a new one last week and near finished up already. I decided I wanted a new horse (something young enough to ride, the other horse is as old as I am within day lol). Because she is so old she dont need much to keep her in the pen but a young buck would find his way out real easy. So i have been redoing the pen and only have a few more boards to lag bolt up. I should be going to pick up the new horse today. He is a 5 year old bay named Blaze don't know if that will change. Ya'll want some pictures of the project let me know ill find a moment to take some this weekend. Have a good one,

Boomer

Tim, Nothing wrong with bragging or sharing about getting a new tool to me! There's many ways to judge how manly someone is, but in my book you'll get more points on how many tools you have and how good you are at using them. Even if your skills aren't the best, I'll still give you points for trying. Unfortunately I think building something with your hands is becoming a lost skill. Many people are too lazy or scared to even try. So if I came across as chastising, then I apologize because I meant to congratulate.

Boomer, Post some pics!! My wife and I have five horses so maybe we can give each other some pointers/ideas when building stuff.

Travis, I feel your pain about working on dirt. For me it's sand!! One time I was putting an axle in my malibu and the whole car started to shift. Needless to say I did my fastest crab walk to get clear. Not 30 seconds after getting from underneath the car, it fell over. I thought I would be happy with just a 10x20 cement slab, but now this heat has me wanting A/C too.

I am on what used to be a pasture, grass over red clay. Haven't even tried to jack the truck up yet and probably won't for some time. They are not predicting cooler temps here till next month. This high pressure bubble is killing us. I have 3 horses and can't even work with them it's so hot.

NTShade, My wife would be jealous of your pasture. I think she's paying $120 a round bail right now. I hate to see how high it's going to get with no rain in sight and predictions of another dry winter. What kind of horses do you two have? We have a palomino, appaloosa, tennesse walker and two chestnut quater horses.

I have a yearling sorrel colt, a 3 year old pinto mare that is curley in the winter, and a 6 year old buckskin who is scared of his shadow. Going to get rid of the mare and the Buckskin, keep the colt and have him cut and get an older sweet horse to ride with my grandson.

We finally got some rain today, but not near enough. Hay is being baled around here, but it's very dry.

Wow guys I wish I could help ya'll out, I know how it feels paying an arm and leg back there. But up here I can get those round bales for $45 or so. And it has been a dry year for this area.
I got some more work done, but burnt out the ole saw blade trying to rip 2 1/2 in thick boards with a skill saw. Going to pick up a new one today and get back to work on the farm again this evening, finish cutting before I put the rest of the boards up. I was able to build some easy saddle racks for $2 a piece. Still try to get those pictures up today.

Here a truck I'm working on now. The guy drop it off to have injectors replaced. Pulled the first one and it had a broken tip. After talking to the guy he decided he wanted to go ahead and pull the heads. Have a look at that cylinder and do arp head studs while it was apart.

Here is what the head and piston looks like on the #1 where it broke the tip off.

Here it is with heads off waiting on machine shop

now that I have it apart, the guy is thinking about going ahead and putting a rebuilt motor in it. Was just planing on head job, piston change, and fixing A/C sytem, but looks like it might end up with fresh motor now.

Also, have a 04 F350 dullie with a 6.0 that a guy is wanting me to due a cummins swap on. It will be awhile before he has all the parts for me to due that one, but I will post some pics when I get started on it.
