Nothing wrong with fabing up a fix, I am all about saving the mighty hard to acquire dollar. I just thought that your local shop was BS ing you.
Ck Superlift web site I ordered shocks for a 79 6" lift, so I knew longer one's are out there.
Stacked blocks will get you wheel hopping like a mad man when you are dropping the hammer on pavement. 35's and a 460 4sp ='s early death to the rear u-joint.
outlawkoyte-(77&79250, your rear shock tabs are great, I think I may do my rear shock mounts like that.) The shock mount relocation idea is from PA74F250, and yes I agree they do look nice, no more rock catcher's.

Yeah, especially since I could build them for less than $2 and prolly less since I likely already have the material in my scrap steel heap. I could even build them at work during my down time and get paid for doing it too , LMAO!!
Yea I used to do the same thing. If I still worked in the sheet metal shop I def wouldn have bought these. Now it's kinda hard to make this stuff sitting at a desk all day. Even buying them they were $8 a piece and I was really impressed with the quality.
For the fronts I'm thinking about chopping the top off the shock towers as much as need the weld a new cap on with a hole in it. Idk seems like a good idea right now. It will be pretty easy I think.
I flipped my top shock mount in rear and 2 of the 3 holes worked I just needed to redrill one.
As for traction bar here's the one I built and it works awesome. My tranny use to kick out of reverse on any semi steep hill but it fixed that but also lays the power down with zero hop with 44's!
I like it. That is more what I have in mind than traditional ladder bars. I would like something a little more bolt on though on the axle side I think. I wonder if I can buy something like this thats not priced out of this world?

My D60 has brackets welded to it for the use of sway bars. I took the sway bars off my truck but that leaves these brackets that need cut off. If you could find one of these d60's you could use those brackets to bolt traction bars to.
