Ok driving to the beach and the trans seemed to be acting up a bit. Then the O\D off light on the shifter starts blinking. Then my ultra gauge gos off with the code p0500 for the speed sensor.I cleared the code so the alarm would go off. After I cleared it the light stopped blinking but the trans still seems to be acting up.. .are there 1 or 2 sensors? One in the rear dif and one in the trans? How hard are they to swap out? Most importantly how much? Thanks guys

Disconnect the battery while changing the VSS to clear codes. Then allow at least 20-40 minutes of varied driving to "relearn".
There are no other sensors outside the transmission however, the MLPS switch with resistors is a likely suspect if the VSS does not fix it.
