Headlight polish

I bought Meguiar's One Step headlight polishing kit today. It worked pretty good. I'm not sure how well you can see it in the pic, but I was impressed enough to you all about it. The driver's side is before and passenger side is after less than 5 minutes of polishing.

Looks good Pat I have used the equivalent made by Mothers on a few different applications. I just recently put in about 10 minutes of elbow grease and 2 applications on one side of Justins headlights. Amazing the difference it makes, he was blown away. The passenger side is up to him, so I would put money on it that his truck will look like its winking at you still come Tech day on the 13th

After you get them polished up good, spray them with Plexus and polish with a soft towel...you will be amazed at how they look . I regularly use Plexus on the headlights and taillights...look new after 12+ years.

Plexus is what is used on aircraft windshields (I learned about it from an avionics guy with the Air National Guard)...I'm telling you the stuff is pricey, but goes a l o n g way and removes anything that is on the lens.

I hope you have better luck with your headlights than I did.
Not to take the wind out of your sail... I used the Meguiar's on my lights, and they looked great for a few months. Now they turned more yellow than ever before.
Its time to replace em.

I haven't done my truck, but I used Turtle Wax Scratch and Swirl Remover on my car lenses and it worked great.
That plus a right angle drill and polishing bonnet did the trick. I then used The Wax Shop carnauba wax as a follow up.
If it lasts I'll do it to the truck.

They do look good but keep us posted on how they hold up.
I need to do mine but if they end up yellowing up in a couple of months I just need to skip lunch a few more days untill I get enough saved up for some 2005's

Guys, Finish the job off with a good wax with UV protection. They will hold up better and longer.

SPF 50 and a very big and very wide brim hat will work also.

Actually Bob has the right idea. The UV protection will make the shine last longer by delaying oxidation.

Do you know why your nose isn't 12 inches long.

Because it's not a foot.

I would have to wear this backwards to protect my nose from the sun.
