So, after checking with a few of the site sponsors, I'm coming up empty handed in trying to find a black CPS P/N F7TZ-12K073-A. Does anyone have a lead on who may still have a few?
Riffraff and diesel o rings are the only ones that were selling them. I looked on Clay's site and they were out of stock. Didn't see them on diesel o rings site. I have a spare new original that I would let go for a small fortune. Just kidding, I wouldn't sell it, that thing is as good as gold.
Subscribing - used my last "black" CPS really don't want to use the new one may have to switch to the navistar one instead. Thought I was ok when I bought 3 of the old style figured they'd last a while. Figured wrong I guess

Reason: sp
Just installed my spare (grey) cps as I plan to go up to dealership so they will stop sending the recall notices,& truck runs great & I picked up about 1 mpg (not towing) course this may be due to summer fuel also, but I,m gonna run it & see how it does towing. Just highway the other day I averaged 18.9,( b4 changing cps the best I was getting on highway trips was 17.8 - 18.0,) hand calculated for a 230 mile trip. That was running at about 68 mph with cruise set most of the trip. No other mods done since changout. Still got my new black cps in glovebox just in case.
Put in an IH CPS today - realized while I was changing it that the one I pulled was 6yrs old! - (hope I didn't just jinx the new one) We'll have to wait & see how the new IH p/n one does. Kept the one I took out just in case I need it. It was on its way out but I figure I'll keep it around just in case.
Anybody got an idea as to what the avg lifespan of a CPS is?
so..... I have read some posts about the cps and I am kinda lost. For recalls trucks for problems with cps. Right? They replace the original ( I assume it was black) with a grey one Right? But now I read that everyone wants the black one back. Is the grey one a p.o.s.? If yes , what makes it a p.o.s.?
