A/C compressor cluth bushings missing.....
Okay today I noticed my A/C compressor was making a ratteling noise with it off or on. I poped the hood and noticed the clutch has 3 bushings in it and 2 od the 3 were missing so when it sits there ideling with the A/C off it rattles. I went to "ZIPPY AUTO PARTS" thinking I could just pick up the bushings.... Well I can't! Lol I have to by a whole new clutch, and the ZIPPY behind the counter told me quote "the clutch pushed those bushings out because there is a underlying problem with the A/C system........ Is this true or was "ZIPPY" just filling me full of bull??? The system cools great!!!! It just rattles......... Was he right?? And if so is it the compressor????

you might want to try doing some searches for TSB's, ford had one for a/c compressors in the early 90's.
and yeah, I call BS on what the zippy guy said. I would get a new clutch anyways, but if your pump was fried it would be fairly obvious.
