When I go to a KOA in Davenport, Florida for the winter I pay $575 per month and if I pay up front I get an extra 5% back when I leave. That works out to be $18.21 per day. Granted it is just off I4 just south on Orlando, but it works for me......
$60+/night just to park your camper? At that point I'd prefer a hotel! When I was growing up we used to have a camper, and I always loved it. Unfortunately with fuel as expensive as it is, it's just too expensive for me to get into. Maybe someday when I grow that money tree.
But probably not for awhile. After 8 years of indecision I may be going back to school in a year or two.
Wow...$60+/night just to park your camper? At that point I'd prefer a hotel!
That's one of the reasons I prefer to leave Jersey for camping.
We do the camp thing because it works out well for us with 2 Golden Retrievers and a cat. And up until last fall we also traveled with a Blue & Gold Macaw, who just loved the whole camping scene.
It's nice, I've been to this one several times and it's only 400 miles from the house.
I also LOVE the fact I can load up the kids and all the beach crap and drive to our preferred spot. The locking diff and 4H work great in the sand out here, traction control helps but I like to test my feel so I turn it off now and then.
Also, my new tires (Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2, 275/65/20) are doing a super job.
