2011 F-350 - How do I remove the radio? Sirius to XM swap pending
I'm stumped. Taking the radios in and out of my '05 and '06 F-350s was pretty simple, yank off the dash, unplug stuff, pull radio.
I can't even find anything to grab onto, let alone yank on the 2011 dash near the radio.
If you know how, please post instructions. Pix would be amazing. You'll have my thanks and wishes for you to enjoy a long, prosperous, and eventful life complete with many late model big trucks and beautiful companions!!!
My ultimate challenge is to see if I can use an Audiovox programable universal XM tuner to switch the Ford stock Sirius sat radio service to XM. That need to do it this way involves a customer service nightmare w/SiriusXM but ... that's another thread but, I gotta get to the back of the radio to check out what can/can not be plugged in and to determine if the XM unit is compatible w/ the stock SYNC head unit.
The stock Ford SYNC head unit is made by Clarion but of course, they've been sworn to secrecy by Ford and will only tell you they make it. Calls and online chats w/ the Ford customer satisfaction phone bank and the SYNC online chat answer line were useless. Also, specific requests for info to the service manager at my dealership have not yet been answered. Dohhhhh.
If you would, please take a minute to help a fellow superduty nerd out.
Thanks,
Joe
