Hey ya'll bought me some new melta tie downs to replace the ones that Ford puts in the bed....
So I was going to put my new tie downs on and the screws that are holing the old tiedowns are hell to take off...Directions says get a T-30 wrench so i am going to do that but i thought my drill would have enough power to unscrew the screws....
I figure it is like takeing a blade off of a lawn mower..You know u have to get a wrench to hold the nut and then get a hammer and hit the wrench to get it off....should it be this hard to take off those tiedowns.????
By T-30, they must be torx heads, right?! You can find those at just about any parts store, but I would get the ones that are socket style, and try to get at least the 3/8" if possible. You can get a better grip on them than the 1/4".
I think I am thinking of the right tiedown hooks in the bed, but have never taken any of them out. Do you have alink of the ones you purchased, or some similiar?
hey i got them at auto zone they fit 97-03 f-150 and for 93 on up step side f-150
if i find a link i will give it to u....their made by Bully and just called Ford Replacement Tie-Downs..they are very good and strong..only thing is they don't have an opening like the ones ford makes they just all Metal...but they are strong and look good/....i'll try to post a link..they were 19.95
