Shifter Problems

I have a 2000 F-250 superduty diesel. My grandaughter was caught playing with the shifter. Now it won't start in park and when I go to shift I have to hunt all of the shift modes. Park,neutral, drive etc. What am I looking at her as far as easy, hard, cheap expensive fix to make her work like shes supposed to. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I am sure you thought of this but something must be bent in the linkage. you might start there? where do U live. I am a former Alaskan myself.

You might want to do a search on this. I had a problem where my pick up would not engage in park so it would roll away. Mess up the foor hinges. Anyways, I ended up replacing the shift tube. It is like new. I know there is a write up on this forum.

Shifter problems

Found the thread on the problem and the attached photos. This saved me a bunch of money and I was able to repair the problem. Thank You FTE members and also FTE for a great web site.
