power steering cross threaded :(
well I replaced the whole rack and pinion and damn if I didnt cross thread the high power hose into the assembly. any thoughts or fixes short of another assembly?

Do you have any Pics of the 2 mating threads? If thy are crossed vs stripped w/o excessive damage. I feel you can take your time and chase the treads (with the correct tap & die) to correct them. Metal grit will be a real concern vs getting any into your system. Good tight rubber plugs and flushing with a can of compressed engine cleaner and compressed air should do a good job of cleaning. Good News! That also means you were probably not tight enough if you had only used the first few threads. The fittings with flared steel lines will teach you:
1. To take your time and square them up.
2. To start them by hand the first few threads.
I think many of us have learned that the hard way and Got Lucky! jow
