Leaky Power Steering Pump
My 1999 7.3 PS with 260,000 has started to leak from the bottom,looks like where the hose hooks to the pump.Is that something that some O rings can cure.Has anyone had a similar problem.And yes I intend to run the truck to 500,000.

Power steering line
Cookie,we did the job and it was a mother.I cut the line at the base of the nutlike piece going into the bottom of the pump.Then I had to put a cv jointed socket on an long extention and twist all my guts out, to break the nutlike creature.The nutlike creature is pressured fitted onto the steel hydraulic line,and still has a rubber unseen grommet inside ,between the steel tube and the nutlike creature.The rubber grommet had been eaten away and no amount of torquing would stop it.The line, if you wiggled it, was as loose fitting as my hand in an elephants behind.The line I got from Ford was tight.We the slipped the nut creature into its female hole and hand tightened until we felt the success of a few un cockeyed threads.The uses a stubby from the top to tighten.I laid on my back guiding the mechanic .To finish the job we had to use a long extention with a crows foot.Them we went to the gear box through the driver side tire hole(turn tire fully to right).I adjusted the tubing frombelow while mechanic got a few threads on the bad boy ,then finished with a stubby.$34 in parts,and three hours in labor,filled with cursing.
But Power steering is working fine.
