Well Carter fuel pumps came up in another thread so I thought I'd update this one.
I got a Carter replacement pump for free (not a lot of comfort there) and it rides in the box behind the back seat just in case. The Airtex pump from Oreilly's is still going strong.
I was mistakenly assuming that you were always referring to a Carter fuel pump used as a pre-OEM booster in addition to the OEM... not as an OEM replacement pump. The pump I had fail after about 80-90K miles was a booster running between the tank and the OEM.
I guess we were Pete. I thought the booster pump kind of went by the wayside after the early guys who were heavy into racing and pulling moved on to the newer motors.
I still run a carter 4060 lift pump for my pre-pump filter an I've never been into racing or pulling.
But you're not the one who started the mod. There's lots of mods from years back that most seem to have moved on from. You're not still running a 10k too are you.

Never had a 10K.
I think it was cookie came up with the carter pre-pump pump. He's still around too.
