Rancho and Hellwig questions...
Sorry for the confusion

While looking at getting RS9000x shocks all around, I think a better steering stabilizer is a good idea. The OEM has already leaked out it's oil and is now non-functional.
I see people using either the RS5404 or the RS5406. What's the difference? Are they both the same except for length? One needs the bracket moved on the tie-rod?
Also, the other question is a Hellwig rear sway bar. I see they have a 1.25" for the F250. They also have a 1.5" for the front. Does putting just the rear in cause too much oversteer? Not sure of the stock front sway bar size.
thanks!

The steering stabilizer I used was an RS5404 and I had to use the Rancho-supplied bolt for the tie-rod connection for clearance. The stock mount on the right side of the axle has a little clearance problem with the shock, so I'm going to see if the paint gets rubbed off and if so, I'll use the die-grinder on it before it eats through the metal...
The stabilizer is a MUST-DO... the stock one had already leaked fluid (at only 5K miles) and there was air in it - it allowed almost 2" of travel before dampening. But even then, it was very weak.
Still have to do the rear sway bar - the swaying is better with the RS9000x's, but still there. the sway bar will be done this week I hope...

Glad you're happy with the new parts for your truck and that all is well. How does the truck feel on a lower setting like 2? I, too, am considering getting the RS9000X shocks (I started a thread on the subject -- click here for it). My primary concern is making the truck softer, i.e. handle more like a sedan (no, I'm not crazy enough to think an F-250 will ride like a sedan -- I just want a better ride than it has now). Any thoughts/input on this & the Ranchos?
When I took off the stock shocks they seemed to be about a "3" compared to the RS9000x's... I'll check it out at "2" whenever I get the chance. Why not just go with RS5000's?
Another question: I have the rears with the adjustment **** facing REAR. I'm afraid to backup into snow/rocks/brush. I didn't turn them around because I thought it would be too hard to get to the ****. Anyone face them frontwards and adjust them OK?

I received them wrapped in brown-paper and NO cushioning. The rears were dented far enough to notice when looking under the truck but did not hinder full travel so I used them because I have to go on a trip later this week.
Not happy about the supplier at all... I only just emailed them about the damage and my opinion on the matter, so I'm not sure if there will be any compensation... it was NOT UPS's fault! They couldn't have even put the package down easily without denting one. I think they did a good job of getting it there in one piece. As it was the hardware for the RS5404 was almost falling out of it's box.
And all that after ripping me off for $50 for the RS5404 which is like $38 at Summit. I had already placed a Summit order for the sway-bar, so I almost HAD to take it from him.
PS: I usually don't like to bad-mouth anyone, but this was crazy. A 35 lbs package wrapped with celophane and brown paper and taped up.

That's strange... I purchased mine from the same place, and they came in the correct boxes, and packed very well.
although, the price is lower than I paid them, so maybe that's how they are able to cut the cost!!!
HMMMM.....

I wanted 2nd day air, so he gave me the chance to get them shipped THAT DAY, so maybe it was thrown together quickly. Not sure... I did save what, $123 over Summit's price?
I'm kinda wondering if they were dented BEFORE shipment, but that's my own paranoia... I'll post if I hear anything from them.

I got over my fit of pique and today Rick emailed me that I can exchange them if I want. It still bugs me that I shouldn't even have this issue in the first place. I had them delivered to my sister's business. Everyone in the warehouse saw it and told me when I first came in the building to not expect them to be OK. They didn't want me to explode

Anyway, they are on the truck and staying there.
HOLY MOLY! What a ride. I just took it through some of the roughest asphalt here on Long Island (industrial area, unkempt), floored it (V10) and it stayed glued to the ground empty. I'm glad they are just as good as the ones I have in my '74 (RS7000 front/RS5000 rear).
I have the fronts on 5 (T springs) and the rears on 7. That might be kinda high. I want to dampen the fronts even more, but when I go above 5 my teeth get loose.
