First I need to replace the shocks again and was wondering what people would go with on my 2000 250. I pull a big trailer and would like to have the smoothest ride for our long trips.
Second, as I said we pull a trailer. I need to replace the brakes and need some suggestions on what heavy duty brakes are out there.
I don't know about the brakes. But shocks I would go with bilsteins. They are a very good ride and handle the weight well. We just ordered some for my dads truck, it was 283 shipped for all four. There is a cheap place online you can get them. I can't remember where I ordered them from. I think they are a sponsor though. Check it out.

You have two good suggestions for shocks and rotors. I have found that I can get a 'smoother' ride by having my psi in the tires lower. My tires are tagged for 80psi and it rides like a tow truck at that pressure, reduce that down to 70psi and it rides like (almost) my car.

I have tried the Bilestein's as well. They are good but I have the Heavy Duty Gabriel's on my front now beings they are readily available at parts stores.I really like the Powerslot rotors with the Hawk SD pads.
I would suggest some Firestone airbags for your rear if you want truly a smooth ride..and for the brakes, I had great success with www.powerstop.com for rotors and ceramic pads and they are reasonably price too.

If you only looking to change brake pads, then Motorcraft makes Severe Duty pads. BR1266 are the standard pads...BRSD756 are the severe duty pads, they are designed for ambulances or heavy use applications etc. They work great for me.
BRSD757 are the rear pads
F81Z2120AA are the front caliper rebuild kits
F81A2120BA are the rear caliper rebuild kits
